What can’t be missing on anyone’s itinerary staying in Rome apartments is to see the important monuments of Ancient Rome such as the Pantheon, the Coliseum or the Trevi Fountain along with the Vatican and so much more. The whole city is packed with culture.
What Rome and Italy are also very known for is the delicious cuisine. After a full day of sightseeing and walking around all day what could be best than sitting down at a restaurant for a good meal. Pizza and pasta are probably the most popular meals. Apart from preparing a sauce there is nothing challenging about cooking pasta, right? But what about preparing pasta from scratch? Here are a couple of excellent restaurants in Rome known for their hand-made pasta:
Le Mani In Pasta – Via dei Genovesi, 37
This restaurant maintains a very authentic character and is popular among Romans as well as tourists. Apart from handmade pasta they serve great seafood. Make sure to not only look at the menu, but also ask the waiter for the specials of the day.
La Carbonara dal 1906 – Via Panisperna, 214
This very authentic little restaurant has been around for more than 100 years. The atmostphere here is very inviting and to leave a little message on the wall is strongly encouraged by the owners. With 7 different types of house made pasta and a great list of deserts guests will leave satisfied. Be careful you don’t get it confused with a restaurant with a similar name close to Campo Fiori.
Angelino ai Fori – Largo Corrado Ricci, 40-43a
The family who owns this restaurant has passed their recipes on from generation to generation. When you sit down here you get treated like family. The pasta dishes are famous for their interesting sauces.
What all 3 of them have in common is the fact that they are family-run businesses which gives them a warm atmosphere and a long tradition of cooking. Another important detail is that they all have an excellent selection of wine. Make sure you have a meal at at least one of these restaurants when you are renting apartments in Rome.
