Seville: A Great City for families

Seville: A Great City for families

If you’re looking for an absolutely magical spot to vacation with your family, look no further than the city of Seville. This colorful city in southern Spain, known for flamenco dancing, bullfighting, and fantastic food, is a great getaway spot for the whole family. This lovely old city offers so much to do and see that you’ll definitely want to stay for at least a week.

Where to stay

One of the best options for accommodations are the outstanding vacation rentals. Only apartments Seville are relatively cheap and far comfortable for a family, as you’ll have more space to spread out. There are some gorgeous options throughout the historic downtown neighborhoods and scattered throughout the city, as well as a wide range of pricing to fit every family’s budget.

Where to go

The great thing about Seville is that most of the major monuments are within easy walking distance. The tram system will connect you to the further reaches of the city, and a bus tour is a great option when you’re just getting acquainted with the city. You can hop on and off at various locations without tiring the kids out too much. Some must-see spots:

– Monuments: There are two you absolutely have to visit. The Alcázar Palace boasts absolutely stunning gardens and a maze that will keep your little ones entertained for hours. The Gothic Cathedral holds the tomb of Christopher Columbus, but the kiddies will have more fun climbing to the top of the Giralda Tower.

– Culture: Obviously, you can’t miss out on the flamenco dancing. You’ll find various acts advertised all over the city, but you’ll find one of the best at Casa de la Memoria. Make sure you get your tickets and show up early to get a good view of the show! And don’t forget to check out the Museo del Baile Flamenco for the full take on the world of Flamenco.

Kids will be thrilled by a visit to the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza, where regular bullfights are scheduled from April through September. Even if you visit later in the year, you can still tour the museum and get a good look at the incredible sport of bullfighting.

– The Great Outdoors: The Plaza de España offers boating along its moat, a Military Museum, and a fascinating look at Renaissance Revival architecture. Right next door you’ll find the Maria Luisa Park. Rent pedal quads for some great exercise and a fun way to get through the whole park. Bring a picnic lunch and relax in the natural beauty while your kids enjoy all the great features the park has to offer.

Where to eat

If you’re visiting Seville, you absolutely have to try the tapas. There are literally thousands of tapas bars throughout the city, and each offers a unique array of treats. Any one of the great Seville apartments will be within walking distance of some amazing food, so I’d suggest getting out there and exploring the tastes, sights and sounds of Seville for yourself.
